Please visit us anytime. Call or email if we can help you in any way. We want to serve you!
IGNITE Student Ministry exists to connect 7th-12th Grade students in the Tulsa Metro to 3 purposes, TO BELIEVE, BELONG AND BLESS our world through Jesus Christ.
BELIEVE
Our Purpose is to help Students to BELIEVE that Christ Jesus is the one and only true Son of God and to continue to worship Him in our daily lives throughout all aspects of our lives, not just in our church, but at school, work, and in our families.
MATTHEW 22:37-38 (ESV)
37And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
38This is the great and first commandment.
BELONG
Our Purpose is to help Students BELONG to something bigger than themselves, The Body of Christ. To help them feel welcomed, loved and appreciated regardless of where they are in their journey. We strive to be a non-threatening, come-as-you-are ministry that is a safe place for questions to be asked (and answered) in order to help Students come to choose Christ.
MATTHEW 28:19-20 (ESV)
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
BLESS
Our Purpose is to encourage all Students to BLESS the world we live in through Jesus Christ. To show Christ Jesus through unconditional, intentional acts of service, encouragement and sharing Christ's love on a personal, local, state, national and international level.
MATTHEW 22:39-40 (ESV)
39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

It wasnt until I was 14 that I really gave my life to Christ as my Savior and even 3 years after that until I was obedient to him through baptism. I love coming out of hard times in my life and looking back to see what amazing things Christ still teaches me even when I mess up.

I have grown up pretty much all my life at Woodland Acres Baptist Church, due to the strong influence of my parents. I have really not started serving the Lord as I should until in the past 10 years. Many of us never understand why we wait till later years of our lives to start serving the Lord. God has given me a great opportunity to serve him in full capacity. I have been the Commander of WABC Awana program for the last 9 years and this truly has changed my life. Not only serving the Lord but his children. I thank God for Wife and Children where we as a family can serve God each and everyday of our lives.

I grew up attending Church of Christ. My parents stopped attending church when we moved from Kentucky to California. There was a church bus that came by our house and if my mom didnt drop me off at church, I would ride the church bus. I decided when I was 12 that I didnt want to die and go to hell, so I decided to give my life to God. I accepted Jesus as my savior and was baptized that very day. Years later after marrying Richard, for me to become a Baptist-to change my church membership, it was necessary to get re-baptized, since I have no problem with this, I was baptized at Woodland Acres on a Easter Sunday.
